NCH - Scholarship Distribution Program

A small program of Namaste Community Foundation – Nepal that evolved after the children home seeing the need of the children in the society got executed on 22nd may 2015.

It is the scholarship program that is still keeping alive the dream of education of Nepalese children.

The scholarship to the children was provided in a ceremony. A total of 70 students was provided with the scholarship materials. 45 children were taken out of the scholarship because of their family’s progressive financial status.

Out of those 45 children 15 passed their school leaving certificate examination. Thanks to all the donors and the individuals those who are helping us in keeping the children rights to education alive. 

Health camp for the earthquake victims

Despite of all those hardship experienced in relief distribution Namaste Community Foundation was determined in providing relief to the victims.

On 10th June 2015, a group of medical team from Namaste Community Foundation - Nepal in collaboration with Namaste Hospital - Pokhara and Nepal army headed towards Gauda V.D.C. of Lamjung District. A total of 300 people got medical benefit at Lamjung.

Similarly on 20th June 2015, we moved towards Orasthe V.D.C. of Syangja District where 707 earthquake affected people got medical benefits.

We would like to thank and appreciate Nepal Hearing Project-Australia; founder David Hine for his financial support, Chairperson of Namaste Hospital - Pokhara Dr. Man Gurung and Mr. Girish Khatri for their co-operation with our foundation since long time.

It is also our great pleasure to co-operate last two medical camps with Nepal Army: also special thanks goes to Dr. Bismita Pradhan & Dr. Bhumika G.C. from Pokhara Bijaypur Army Barrack.

12th Anniversary

After all those ups and downs throughout the year we finally successfully completed our 12th year in the humanitarian field.

11th June is the day when all the kids under Namaste Community Foundation got a house to stay, got a parents to take of them, and got a school for quality education and all.

The 12th anniversary of foundation was celebrated among the children, staffs and the board members in the premises of the foundation.

Support to Balkalyan Primary School - Ghachowk

Witnessing the financial hardship and the necessity of help we decided to support our neighboring school Balkalyan Primary School, Ghachowk with Nine bundles of zinc roof top to build a room and a toilet. We will also build whole toilet building which was damaged by the recent earthquake.

We not only supported the school with zinc roof tin we also financed 2 teaching faculties of the school for the financial year 2072/2073.

To reduce the financial hardship of the school we even provided the school with the authority of selling the grass in our territory.

All of these were done during a program organized on 29th June 2015. The principle of the school Mr. Bishnu Lamsal, board chairman, parents group and the local villagers also thanked NCF - Nepal for all our contribution.  

Support to Watsayan old aged home

Realizing our corporate social responsibility and to keep the promise that we made at the beginning of our 7A Side Championship Trophy 2015; we finally handed over the support amount to Watsayan Old Age Home.

On July 2, 2015 a cheque of Nrs. 84,100 and some food materials equivalent to Nrs. 35,900 was handed over to the president of the old age home at the program.

Founder of NCF - Nepal Mr. Visma Raj Paudel, President Govinda Sharma Bikharchi, Advisor Prem Prakash Gautam, Padma Prasad Paudel and advisor & human right activist Mr. Tek nath Baral jointly handed the cheque and materials to the home.

Temporary Shelter projects

After the massive destruction by the earthquake there was a need of temporary shelter and NCF - Nepal addressed that on 17 July 2015 at Pakhuri, Gorkha.

After a long and a tiring walk of around 9 hours from Arkhet, Gorkha our team managed to reach Pakhuri with all the building materials.

A total of 30 temporary houses were built at Pakhuri as monsoon was about to hit. We would like to thank all the army officials, Government bodies, local people, our board members and all our staffs for all their cooperation and support.

SLC Graduates

It was a time to cherish and a time filled with joy. A smile on the face of children was so noticeable and guess what that was of?

Yes off course all the children appearing their exam of school leaving certificate passed with a good marks and this was like a farmer’s happiness.

All the hard work paid off and all the devotion towards the children proved to be worthy.

Thank you children for bringing a moment happiness in ourselves as well and we thank to Step by Step higher secondary school for guiding our children so nicely and for providing quality education.

Higher Secondary Schooling

All the children passing out their school leaving certificate exam got admitted at Sublime Higher Secondary School at grade 11 and they have already started their schooling.

Eight of the children got admitted in Management stream and Sharmila got admitted in Science stream.

With a team of very qualified teachers, proper infrastructure and with better school management we are very optimistic that the children will surely come up with the flying colors.

Fencing at Ghachowk

To avoid unauthorized trespassing at our property, Ghachowk and to give a slow start to our upcoming projects we started with a fencing work.

All our 26000 square meter land will be protected by a fence where we can do vegetation and livestock farming.

This will be an initiation towards the new beginning of Women Empowerment Project for self-sustainability.

Video shoot at WEP

A documentary regarding the women empowerment project and all its activities was captured in the lens Namaste Foundation - Netherlands.

All the trainees from our three different training session were invited in the video shoot program. Thanks to Namaste Foundation - Netherlands for carrying out all those activities for the benefit of the project in Nepal.

Annual General Meeting

The annual general meeting of Namaste Community Foundation was organized at the Himalayan Kitchen conference hall on 5th September 2015 on the charimanship of Mr. Govinda Sharma Bikaharchi. The chief guest for the program was Mrs. Laxmi GC from Women & Children Ministry and was organized with the board members, government line organizations, local stakeholders and some of our bigger children & staff joined the program. The progress report, auditors report and a PowerPoint presentation related with the activities carried throughout the year was shown in the program. We are happy to receive valuable suggestions and praises for the good work.

Another training has been started

The fourth training for the single women (living under the poverty level) at our women empowerment center, Ghachowk has been started from 6th September 2015. A group of 25 women mostly from Ghachowk, Lahachowk, Machhapuchhare & Pokhara has been selected for the 3 months full training on "Tailoring". Some trainee living far from the center are given a residential facility (including food, accommodation, etc) together with a trainee is from the earthquake victim family. This training will teach various tailoring skills and includes 2 weeks designing course, which will allow our trainees to learn more than an average trainees.

Children's Achievement:

One of our child Renuka Mahato (residing from August 2003) from Namaste Community Foundation got 1st position in the whole Kaski district among the children houses securing distinction in her school leaving certificate examination 2072. She received an appraisal certificate from the Child Rights Officer on 7th September 2015. We the family of Namaste Community Foundation are very happy to see her potential growth and we wish her a very bright future.     

Promotional visit

Founder/Director of Namaste Community Foundation – Nepal Mr. Visma Raj Paudel has started a 3 weeks promotional journey to United States. During this time, he will be attending various meetings with the current sponsors, attend fund raising events and to find potential donors from United States for the great social work that our organization is doing locally in the field of underprivileged children and women of Nepal.

Fund raising

We are overwhelmed to know that one of our supporter and good friend “Shelley Winters gill" from UK has started a fund raising via "JUST GIVING" to support Namaste Community Foundation (www.ncf-nepal.org) from the Bristol Half Marathon next month. She will be raising £500 to support NCF – Nepal. Thanks to Mrs. Winters gill for all of her effort in serving the mankind.
