“The graduation ceremony for the 12 new trainees from our 15th batch of 3 months full-time “Tailoring Training” has been completed at our Women Empowerment Center in Ghachowk, Kaski, Pokhara. These participants were from different parts of Kaski, mostly from Ghachowk, Naudada, and Parbat.
They were provided with free training, training materials, and a counseling class to empower them towards financial independence. Some of them were also provided with lodging, food, afternoon snacks, basic medical treatment, etc., on a regular basis, and motivational monetary support for those who did not miss the class. The trainees are now eligible to receive seed funding to start their own small businesses.
We greatly appreciate Namaste Foundation, Netherlands, for their wonderful partnership since 2009 in creating opportunities for vulnerable women. Over 289 single and helpless women have benefited and graduated from the training program to date.
