HEARTFELT CONDOLENCE TO OUR EX-CHAIRMAN
We are deeply saddened about the passing of Govinda Sharma Bikharchi Paudel (Ex-chairman of NCF Nepal and Father of our Founder/Chairperson Mr Visma Raj Paudel) on 11th July 2021 at the age of 80 years.
Our thoughts and prayers are with his family. Govinda Sharma’s soul is now at peace. May our prayers help to comfort and ease the pain of this loss.
Mr. Sharma was involved in many social development causes for so many years and was a very social person. He has been involved and supporting our organization since its establishments.
He has served as vice chairman, chairman and advisory committee member for Namaste Community Foundation. No doubt, he was a great person, teacher, politician and a social worker.
OUR ANNIVERSARY WITH HUMANITY, LOVE AND CARE
This year we celebrated our foundation’s 19th Anniversary by sharing one day meal for 650+ low-income families.
Most of them were daily wage workers living temporarily around Pokhara, are badly suffering for livelihood due to lockdown and no work circumstances.
Some of them were physically differently able and some were the students, whose parents were facing difficulties due to lockdown circumstances.
The celebration was opened for 3 continuous days starting from 9th June 2021. We had invited everyone to be part of this celebrations.
We greatly appreciate your participations and made a difference in someone’s life even for a day.
THE MONSOON SEASON IN NEPAL
The monsoon season is the major rainy time of year in Nepal, which falls in between mid–June till September. This is also summer time with wet period as well. During the Monsoon, it rains almost every day with occasional thunderstorms.
Practically, Monsoon in Nepal is a great season as it brings heavy and long rainfalls, which is a boon for Nepalese agriculture and biodiversity.
But the unusual excessive rains battered in Nepal few weeks ago has caused many damages mostly in eastern part of Nepal. This led to the rivers overflowing, which resulted in the widespread destruction.
Many people have lost their lives and others gone missing. Many houses, under construction bridges have been washed away. It has caused billions worth loss of properties in the country. Hundreds of people have transferred to temporary shelters.
THE CURRENT COVID CIRCUMSTANCES
The ongoing Covid-19 and its changing variants have been creating difficult situation in Nepal. Yet, Nepal government has decided some relaxations modality. School have been opened online module and the businesses are allowed to operate till 8 PM.
However, restrictions on activities that can lead to overcrowding such as conferences, cinema halls, party palaces, swimming pools and other sports, gathering at public places, religious gatherings, as well as educational institutions are still on.
According to the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP), the COVID-19 infection rate has been around 18 to 20 percent in Nepal for the last three weeks. The government is giving its main priority towards vaccination against the coronavirus. About 4.8 % have been fully vaccinated and 11.8% have got at least 1 dose of vaccine till date.
But the government’s rapid reopening of the economy may invite a third wave of coronavirus as little attention is given to enforce the curbs. Despite the orders, many businesses and public vehicles are not following the safety protocols and measures, which may give rise to COVID-19 cases.
We wish you a good health and happiness. Please stay safe and take care of yourself and your family. Please know that you and all your loved ones are always in our prayers & thoughts.
Regards
Visma Raj Paudel
